Clients in our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) attend a combination of group, individual, and family psychotherapy, along with comprehensive evaluations with our medical director, and assessments with our vocational career counselor. Treatment plans are entirely personalized, designed to meet the unique needs and goals of each of our clients.

Nurturing Mental Health with Tailored Therapy Programs

We utilize a variety of treatment modalities, including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based therapy and psychodynamic therapy in our group and individual therapy sessions. We help our patients develop the courage and skills necessary to meet their emotional needs in healthy and proactive ways.

What can I expect during the first session?

Your first session would be an in depth, biopsychosocial assessment with one of our clinicians, who will gather insight about your history, struggles, and goals for treatment.

How long does mental health treatment take?

The duration varies based on individual needs and the nature of your condition. Our intensive outpatient program typically spans several months. We also offer a non-intensive outpatient therapy approach where clients can attend individuals and groups as needed in order to support their transition to a lifestyle in recovery.

How do I cope between sessions?

PCI’s clinicians will provide coping strategies for you to practice on your own. They will impart skills and lessons on how to lead a life of recovery. Additionally, practicing self-care and staying connected with supportive individuals can help.

Can I stop treatment if I feel better?

You and the clinical director can discuss when it’s appropriate to end treatment. It’s essential to communicate openly about progress and goals. However, our clients typically continue seeing their primary therapist or attend groups as needed after they have completed the intensive outpatient program. This will better guarantee long term support and growth.

Can I involve my family in the treatment process?

Involving family members can be very beneficial to healing old wounds and creating a healthier environment of support. If clients consent, we involve family members in the treatment process, whether through family sessions, or through our free evening support groups.

Do I have to take medication?

Not everyone requires medication. Our medical director will assess whether medication is appropriate based on your symptoms and history, and will communicate with your psychiatrist, if applicable.

What if I don't see immediate results?

Treating your mental health is an ongoing process, and progress looks different for everyone. It’s essential to communicate openly with your therapist about your progress and any concerns you may have.
