Efren Olmos, AMFT

Efren is a Los Angeles native and is a core component and primary therapist of the PCI treatment team. He proudly joined the team in 2015 and has 15 years of experience in the field of addiction and mental health treatment, working in both non-profit and privately owned facilities. He started his journey working for People In Progress all-male facility, followed by a two-year stay serving men and women at Studio 12, then establishing himself as the Program Coordinator for an all-women facility in Brentwood.

Efren has a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and in 2021, he graduated from Phillips Graduate Institute obtaining his master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy, and is currently working as a registered associate marriage and family therapist (AMFT). Efren’s interactions with clients are based on the principle of compassionate communication. He uses modalities informed by evidence-based theories, like motivational interviewing and CBT. Efren is passionate about his client’s success and caters to individual needs, whether that is meeting them where they are at with solution-focused techniques or working deeper on processing trauma, or exploring family of origin dynamics. He encourages the client to move from crisis to solution through experiential discussion and targeted personal growth strategies focused on strengths, hopes, and dreams.
