Aamir Khan, M.D.
Dr. Khan’s clinical approach focuses on understanding your journey, taking into account the biological, psychological, and social factors impacting your life. As a psychiatrist trained in treating both adults and children, he strives to conceptualize your development over time. Dr. Khan aims to provide an affirming environment for individuals of all backgrounds and hopes to understand their unique community and family system. During your initial visit(s), you can expect a comprehensive, evidence-based approach that highlights the potential importance of medications and psychotherapy in treatment. Dr. Khan’s practice utilizes measurement-based care as a means of monitoring and improving your response to treatment over time.
Dr. Khan has worked in a variety of health systems, including emergency, inpatient, outpatient, partial hospitalization, VA hospital, and correctional settings. During his training at Baylor College of Medicine, he received recognition for Clinical Excellence in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Humanism in Medicine, and Resident Teaching. He also served as a Chief Fellow and coordinated wellness initiatives in the department. Dr. Khan’s training has provided him with exposure to various types of therapy including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family therapy. He is comfortable treating a variety of mental health conditions, with particular interest in depression, anxiety, ADHD, and bipolar disorder.
