This was an above and beyond experience that helped me push through my mental health issues and got me back on my feet again. I give credit to each of the therapist that helped me with my recovery. If you are dealing with mental health or addiction issues, this is the place for you to go.!
PCI has been absolutely integral in my recovery. The staff was very professional, caring, and extremely supportive of my recovery. Dr. Christal, Dr. Miriam, Efren, Marcos, Maha, Kassem, Layla, and all others have been very thorough and loving of my care. I really learned a lot in the groups and the 1 on 1 sessions. The outpatient program at PCI has augmented my AA program perfectly! I love PCI and will never forget the help they provided me. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND PCI!
Before PCI I felt stuck in old habits I knew weren't helping me while my inner critic was constantly on my back, making my head not the most pleasant place to be. I felt the pressure to be, to go go go and be a high achiever but was constantly burning out with overload and mental and emotional exhaustion. To the world, I was a successful, busy woman, but under the surface, I was scrambling to hold myself together and couldn't meet my own basic needs. Even though I still have a long way to go in my journey, I can't believe the changes I've felt already! Not only do I have an awareness of where my habits and coping strategies have come from, but I have clear systems to make actionable changes. Having the knowledge and tools to support myself and be my own best friend means I can move forward with what truly aligns with my values without the need to people please or overstretch.
PCI has helped me so much! I have struggled with severe anxiety and major depression since my 20's and have never felt in control. For years I've tried therapies, self medicating, and gone through a massive amount of medications from my doctors, yo-yoing so much that I felt like a guinea pig. I was just going through the motions of being a mom/wife while suffering greatly on the inside. I started attending PCI because they had outpatient support and help that I needed to fit my busy mom schedule, Maha and Layla got me in quickly and therapy began immediately. The therapy consisted of a mix of personal one-on-one and group therapy sessions which focused on mental health, substance use, and meditation. I discovered so much about myself, unpacked underlying reasons for my feelings and even discovered a completely new and more concise diagnosis. I've learned to be more gracious with myself and have a much better understanding of my mental health. The quality of care I received from the staff here is unmatched. PCI's compassionate doctors and mentors made me feel fully supported and understood while teaching me the skills I needed to give myself good mental health.
PCI literally and figuratively saved my life. I was at a point where I was depressed and anxiety ridden and wasn't getting the help I needed from my medication. My personal therapist recommended PCI and I went reluctantly. I was SO GLAD that I went. They have fantastic therapists there and as a patient you have a wide variety of sessions both with group and individual therapists. The therapists come to group and individual sessions with topics that engage and challenge the patients. I was pushed hard but in a very positive and organic way. The administration there is also second to none. Dr. Miriam (founder), Maha, and Layla as a staff take care of you with A+ service. They handle insurance and scheduling issues and take the stress away from those issues so you can focus on yourself. I would (and have) recommend PCI to anyone who has gotten to a point in their life where they need intensive therapy and a regimented game plan. This is one of the best organization I have ever been a part of and I won't hesitate to use them again if I am ever in an extreme psychological situation
I have my life back thanks to PCI. My mental health degraded over several years and I eventually turned to alcohol. I tried other professionals and programs but I couldn't stop myself from falling deeper into the darkness. I came to PCI completely broken. Through the individual and group sessions but especially due to all of the whole team's guidance and support, I was able to climb my way out of severe depression and anxiety, completely stop drinking and build my life back to better than it has ever been. They even helped with my job hunt and through family therapy, repaired much of the significant damage to my marriage. My mental health is vastly better and my life is actually enjoyable again; something I couldn't even picture it being for a long time. Most importantly, I know I will always have the PCI team there for me so I can continue to push myself forward without fear of ever going back to those depths of pain and helplessness.
I have been attending PCI for a year and a half and have benefited immensely from their psychological expertise, their exceptional customer service, and their immense kindness. The entire team is incredibly supportive and understanding and all work with great patience to help clients progress in a positive direction. I am very happy to recommend PCI to anyone who needs some mental health help and can guarantee that you will be in good hands. This has been my personal experience and I am excited to finish up the last half a year that I have with PCI and move on to the next chapter of my life with their help. Thanks again to everyone at PCI and let's get healthy, strong, and resilient!
Dr. Miriam and her amazing staff basically saved my son’s life. Their astute diagnosis — which was counter to what many others health professionals had given — turned my son’s life around, in the best possible way. PCI is the best — and it starts at the top with Dr. Miriam’s warmth, expertise, and genuine compassion. If you want more details, I’m more than happy to share; contact me via email.
PCI Westlake Centers is the only treatment/therapy center that I have attended in which I felt that the staff put everything that they had into my recovery and overall mental and emotional health. One on one sessions with my therapist were vital to my recovery and I currently have more physical, emotional, and spiritual sobriety than I ever have had in my life. The policies and practices at PCI Westlake are among the most professional I have ever experienced.
I spent nearly six months in their IOP program, and it has given me a solid footing to continue on with my sobriety and growth. The staff has helped me immensely, and I really appreciate how individualized their treatment plans are. Even after being out of IOP for 6 months I still take advantage of having one-on-one sessions. I’ve had many therapists in the past, and the one I have through this program is like no other.
Unlike any previous treatment center I have attended PCI was able to bring practical life solutions that could be applied into the groups. The staff was always very respectful of everyone’s space yet doing their utmost to push people to grow.” PCI has helped me a great deal with the group, keeping me clean & sober. The most that helped me was the individual sessions with my primary therapist.

As a psychiatrist in the community, PCI Westlake centers is my go-to treatment program referral source for individuals with mental health and/or substance use conditions. I can always rely on this program to take great care of my patients. When they return to see me, I am always impressed with the exceptional treatment they have received. Can’t highly recommend PCI enough to individuals seeking further treatment.
I always look back to [Dr. Miriam’s] manner and skill as a model of empathic attunement to be emulated.
These dedicated professionals provide evidence-based treatment along with a passion and commitment to helping and serving others.
I had a very pleasant experience at PCI. The staff are all highly professional and very caring toward clients. The director of the clinic pays individual attentions to each client and tailors treatment to individual needs. The office space is always neat and very welcoming filled with positive energy. I highly recommend PCI to anyone looking to receive the utmost professional treatment.
Miriam is a respected colleague and owns and operates PCI at a high level. We always feel confident in referring patients to her program.

I attended PCI in Westlake Village for a dug and alcohol problem I have been struggling with on and off for my entire life. I have been to multiple rehabs and multiple detoxes and always ended up back in active addiction. I was referred to PCI as an outpatient service from a detox I had attended. I was able to get group therapy, one on one sessions with a therapist I grew to trust and was prescribed medication that was right for me at that time. Since completing the IOP course at PCI. I am almost 10 months sober. Most time I have ever had, and seems to come almost effortless at this point. I am forever appreciative of Dr. Miriam and Dr. Patrick and the entire staff of PCI. I really would not be where I am with out their support and knowledge.
Recommending PCI is an understatement. The change that took place in my life was because of the resources that were given to me by Dr. Miriam and her team at PCI. They helped me turn my life around so that I could be the person that they knew I was capable of all along.

I began attending PCI in June of 2018, I was incredibly nervous and unsure of what to expect, but those feelings were immediately met with warmth and support. The therapists at PCI helped me build a foundation, not only for long term sobriety, but for emotional growth as well. I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for Efren and the rest of the team. I have learned so much about myself, about healthy coping skills, and that vulnerability does not equal weakness. For me I knew I needed therapeutic support, as well as the help of a 12 step program in order to succeed in my recovery. With the support and skills I learned I now have three years of sobriety, incredible relationships, and job that I love. I am forever grateful for my time in PCI's intensive outpatient and my continued individual work with Efren.
PCI is a true dual diagnosis center that utilizes individual, group and family therapies in a targeted & unique treatment plan for each client. Additionally, they offer a bi-monthly family support/education meeting led by a medical doctor (Dr. Diamond) and a psychologist (Dr. Miriam). These group meetings were invaluable as they not only provided educational resources to family members but also opportunities to share experiences with other families in a confidential, supportive and safe space. Our loved one came to PCI’s IOP as a step down program after hospitalization and residential treatment. Dr. Miriam, Efren(therapist) Dr. Wendy(vocational counselor) & the rest of the IOP care team helped our loved one reclaim his life one step at a time. He felt seen, heard, validated and respected at all times. Once our loved one graduated from the IOP, he was able to continue seeing Efren and Dr. Wendy weekly on an outpatient basis, as well as continue participating in family therapy sessions as needed. This continuity of care helped him successfully manage the transition back to college as a sober, full-time student. PCI not only helped our loved one heal, but also our entire family. In our ongoing family therapy sessions, Dr. Miriam provided the support and guidance we needed to have open, honest and raw conversations. She helped us identify and change many of the unhealthy patterns/habits that had kept us all stuck for so long, and over time, our entire family dynamic shifted in so many positive, beautiful ways. We are beyond grateful to be a part of the PCI family.
